Two Junior Achievement consultants give a high school student practical experience with a job interview during a Success Skills class.

Consultants LaDonia Watkins (center) and Paula Maggard (r) help a high school student experience an actual job interview during the Success Skills program. JA programs are a success because of the dedication of community volunteers like LaDonia and Paula.

·Junior Achievement is the world's largest organization dedicated to educating students in grades K-12 through experiential, hands-on learning, about entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy. Our goal is to integrate the highest quality economic program possible into the classroom curriculum. JA's unique approach allows volunteers from the community to deliver our curriculum while sharing their experiences with students.

Embodying the heart of JA, our classroom volunteers transform the key concepts of our lessons into a message that inspires and empowers students to believe in themselves, showing them they can make a difference in the world.

Our consultants come from all walks of life: the bulk work for or are retired from area businesses, but many school districts and universities see value in volunteering for Junior Achievement, as do representatives of federal, state, and local governments. Working parents often volunteer to consult for their children's classes, and many JA consultants present JA's free enterprise educational programs to two or more classes during a single program year! [Find out who on the Multi-Achievers page.]

On behalf of the students they are helping to learn the economics of life, Junior Achievement would like to extend a heartfelt "THANK YOU" to all of our area volunteers! Following is a list of all our 2010/2011 consultants and the companies they work for. If you have any questions about volunteering, please email us at info@michianaja.org or phone Sue at (269) 983-7579.
